How to Get Users to Swipe Content on Mobile Screens
Visual Cue Visibility
One of the most effective techniques for displaying content on mobile screens is to use bleeding edges. With a small and limited screen, you have to use all the space you got.
Bleeding edges allow content to bleed through the screen edges to maximize space. When users see this visual cue, it signifies more content to be revealed. However, users may miss it and fail to swipe for more content if you don't design it correctly.
To ensure users see the cue, bleed at least half of a content piece. Make sure to bleed enough to where users can touch it with their finger and swipe.
Avoid bleeding too little content, or users won't notice that it's swipable. The amount of content to bleed should be about a finger width. This size allows the finger to hit the touch target comfortably.
