Interested in learning what everyone is currently working on and what they need help with. If the topic is right, we can turn it into an insightful and informative article or video for everyone.
About to start a grand re design, and one of the hot topics on the horizon is how to tackle tables... not the most exiting topic, but one that seems to have so many angles of discussion.
Trying to figure out how to best present work. A lot of portfolio templates have things about them that make browsing work not fun. Tricky as too many images can be overwhelming and most people seem not to click into case studies. So it seems animating the entire project into a case video that autoplays large is the best way to present the work.
Looking at different platforms: framer, webflow, squarespace. It gets confusing as a stable CMS is good, but the ability to add GSAP and other impressive animation polish seem important for brand work. I am also hearing rumours figma has something new coming. So maybe waiting to build on that could be best.
I highly recommend Framer! If you set up your Figma file well, you can just copy + paste into Framer with only little editing needed to make it fully responsive, hook up components, things like that. I recently used it for the first time for my new pfolio site and loved it!
Building a couple of things right now while having the full-time gig.
1.) PourMeABeer.com, a beer swag marketplace, where we connect to breweries from around the area and create swag for them. It sells both in our marketplace as well as their tasting rooms, events, etc. Getting quite a bit of traction lately.
2.) NationOfAlcohol.com, the LinkedIn for the food and beverage industry. Currently, still fixing some bugs and doing user testing, but it's coming along swimmingly.
I am designing an experience to follow life of books (as distinct objects) and share these with friends, colleagues, groups of interest
It is tricky to make it simple as we can handle many operations on a book: news like intagram, discussions like whatsapp, borrow requests, lending management. Also how to notify without creating disturbing is a challenge (it's required for social networks but too many notifications is risky).
We use sliders, grids, panels, popups according the intention.
Website is responsive, mobile-first, built mainly with french users (english is managed).
Currently scrubbing all of a client’s existing interfaces for all icons, buttons, typography, form fields, chips, styles, etc. etc., so we can create a functional design system and component library for them.
Also pagination recently came up, and been following the Nielsen/Norman recommendation, but in specific...is there any research as to where we place pagination when it's needed? I see the bottom as most common practice, but Left, Center, or Right? When people are scrolling through a data table rather than searching or filtering, I'm wondering where they are fixed when they hit the bottom of the page, and if the primary object (person place or thing) is the first column of the table, then I had recommended bottom left, with array of 25, 50, and 100 records per page...
Working on big data property management and financial apps. Some detailed discussion and demonstration of data visualization for big data would be useful. For our KPI data visualizations, I've been recommending no more than a handful of top pieces of summary data, based on Millers Law, and allowing people to expand a graph to see it enlarged to 85% if the screen size when they ask to see granular detail...
I’m working on a in-house messaging app. The biggest struggles is how the messages should be working on web. As we want to implement a conversational experience like LinkedIn or Facebook with an alert/toast like conversation. But due to legacy code we can only have conversations in its own page.
1. Redesigning onboarding process for personal finance web app. Client wants to improve conversion rate, have an app tour, communicate the benefits and have a paywall as the last step in onboarding process.
2. In discovery phase for a mobile app for a non-profit organization that should have 3D virtual tour as a main feature.

Name is simple but would be changed later: https://livres.app
I am working on usability testing report. Will analyze and present the results to the client.
